Trials

Although trials aren’t mandatory, they are recommended! This gives us a chance to meet, discuss your style, and try out YOUR bridal glam vision.

Allow an hour to an hour and a half to two hours for your trial.

I take trials on weekdays and limited Sundays. All trial appointments are taken at my studio in El Cajon.

Come with a clean, bare face and inspiration photos!
Keep in mind: I don’t mind inspiration photos from Pinterest, etc. but photos of my own work are much more helpful - every MUA has their own style to offer!

I recommend booking your trial 2-4 months in advance if possible.

Every month on my instagram I list available weekend dates on my “Availability” highlight. I will typically do this 2 months in advance.
Wedding Day

Make sure to allow at least an hour for Bridal Makeup and for all others (Guests, Bridesmaids, Moms, Juniors) please allow 50 minutes.

Once the contract has been signed, that number is not subject to change.

Absolutely! This is recommended since bridal parties have been very large lately. My maximum number of solo services is 5, so for any larger parties, my assistant will be required at an additional cost.

We can add on the assistant service if required, but this all depends on availability. This is why it is always best to have your set number of girls/services at the time of booking.

Trust me, we understand they are beautiful and make for the best photos, but venues fail to let you know that you typically don’t get access to the bridal suite until around 11.
With a large bridal party that timeline becomes highly unrealistic for hair and makeup.

You can always book an AirBnB (more ideal for space and lighting) or a hotel room the night before to get ready in and then head to the suite afterwards.

Any more than 5 girls being serviced will require adding on an assistant. Please see my services for further information and pricing.
Booking

In order to finalize and initiate the booking process, I will need two things: A signed contract and a non-refundable non-transferable $100 retainer. A retainer is a pre-payment made in advance to reserve your specific date. This fee serves as a commitment from both parties and ensures that I am exclusively available to cater to your needs during the agreed-upon period. This is a separate fee from your day-of invoice. Once I have received both the signed contract + retainer, I will lock you into my calendar.
You do have a 24 hour grace period from the time the contract has been sent to sign and pay your retainer, otherwise your date is void and becomes available for others to book.

Absolutely!
But please keep in mind bookings are on a first come first serve basis and nothing is secured unless your contract is signed and the deposit has been made.

Cash is best! Pay cash and I will love you forever (even though I already will.)
I also accept Zelle / Apple Pay, and Venmo - please note that payments via Venmo must add the 2% service fee to their total invoice.
Your invoice can also be paid direct through my invoicing platform, HoneyBook - though there is a 3% fee incurred.

Uhhh can you say DREAM COME TRUE?!
Working with Shelby was exactly that. She is truly a miracle worker when it comes to makeup. I was absolutely SHOCKED when I saw my before & after. I’d never felt so beautiful & my makeup lasted ALL NIGHT. Not only is she amazing at her craft but her personality is unmatched. So much spunk & light, she’s an artist & a hype woman! Looking forward to working with her again a million more times!

Where to start about shelby?? She was recommended to me by a friend for my wedding makeup and she will be doing my makeup for every special occasion for the rest of my life. Not only is she incredibly talented doing makeup but she is a little ray of sunshine. you can’t be unhappy when you’re around her. I think that the best compliment I received on our wedding day was from my husband who said my makeup just enhanced my natural beauty in all the right ways. I think that is what Shelby is best at. Since my wedding she has done my makeup for family photos as well. She knows just the right times to push the envelope and take you just enough out of your comfort zone to feel extra glamorous.

I am so glad that our bride picked her for her big day! She is absolutely INCREDIBLE and is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. I was so impressed when she gave me the mirror to see my final makeup look. She created exactly what I had envisioned but a thousand times better!! Shelby is everyone’s hype woman and made us all feel and look like a million bucks. My makeup looked flawless at the end of the night even after hours of dancing. I can’t wait to work with her again in the future and will recommend her to anyone looking for a makeup artist!
